Annyeong, I'm Sanni

Happiness grows when you share it, and few things bring people together like a Korean table.

As a cooking instructor I share my love of Korea's food and culture. By day I'm a social worker, which has taught me to really listen to what different people need and enjoy.

Back in my student days I cooked for my dorm-mates and felt how powerfully cooking and eating together relaxes a room and brings people closer. I wanted to share that feeling with more and more people.

So since 2019 I've given Korean cooking classes, including at the VHS Heidelberg and the Mannheim Abendakademie, introducing countless participants to authentic dishes and Korea's food culture.

Sanni · 산영

✦Guest instructor at the Korean Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Berlin. Across 2024 and 2025 she led its official Korean cooking classes several times: from Chuseok holiday dishes (songpyeon & sujeonggwa) to modern café favourites (yakgwa cookies & black-sesame latte) and summer desserts (patbingsu & yuza cocktail).

Example courses

Three ways into Korean cooking.

These are sample courses to spark ideas. Every class is tailored to your group, the season and what you'd love to cook. Each one ends the same way: sitting down together to enjoy what you made.

Traditional

Traditional Korean Cuisine 전통 한식

Korea's everyday table is full of exotic, colourful surprises. Over more than 5,000 years the peninsula grew a cuisine quite unlike anywhere else in Asia: healthy, vivid and tuned to the season. We cook the real thing together, then sit down to enjoy it.

"Six of us came as friends and had more fun than we'd had in ages. None of us had ever cooked Korean — and by the end we sat together like after a proper feast."

"I've taken a few cooking classes, but this was the warmest. We didn't just follow along — we understood why each step matters, from songpyeon to sujeonggwa. I now cook Korean at home."

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Where do the classes take place? +
Public classes take place at the WohnenPlus cafeteria in Richterswil on Lake Zürich. For private groups and company events Sanni cooks there too — or together we find a suitable event kitchen near you, around Wädenswil and Zürich. We don't offer classes in private homes. Just get in touch and Sanni will gladly help you find the right place.
Can you cater to allergies and diets? +
Absolutely. Vegetarian, vegan, no-pork, gluten-sensitive and most allergies are no problem; Korean cooking is wonderfully adaptable. Just note it in your booking request and I'll plan around it.
Who are the classes for? +
Everyone who loves to eat and try something new – from teenagers to grandparents. No cooking experience needed, and I adapt the spice and pace to the group.
How many people can join? +
Most classes run for 4 to 20 guests, which keeps things hands-on and sociable. For private celebrations, birthdays, and business or team events, get in touch and we'll arrange something special.
What language are classes taught in? +
German, English or Korean, whatever's most comfortable for your group. Mixed-language tables are very welcome; food is a universal language anyway.
What's included, and what should I bring? +
Everything is provided: ingredients, aprons, equipment, recipe cards to take home, and of course the full meal you cook together. Often there are leftovers to pack up too. Just bring an appetite and curiosity.
How do I pay, and what if I need to reschedule? +
Sending a request costs nothing. Once we confirm a date I'll share payment details. Life happens, so let me know at least 48 hours ahead and we'll happily find a new date.
